Best gaming laptops for travel: weight, battery and power brick

The Razer Blade 14 weighs 1.63 kg and can charge over USB-C. Tom's Guide still got only about 5 hours of web browsing from it. Every gaming laptop here is a plug-in machine once you start playing.

  1. Best to carry

    Razer Blade 14 (2025)

1.63 kg and a 72 Wh battery, and Razer says USB-C can supply up to 100 W. Tom's Guide measured about 5 hours of web use and 2 h 14 min of gaming.

  2. Longest tested battery here

    ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2025)

Only the Blade 14 and this one have a battery test I could read. Laptop Mag measured just over 10 hours of web use. The tablet is 1.20 kg, but the keyboard cover brings it to 3.53 lb, and Laptop Mag found it runs hot.

  3. Biggest screen that still travels

    Razer Blade 16 (2026)

Razer lists 4.6 lb and 14.9 mm thin for a 16-inch OLED. Configs reach an RTX 5090, so check the one you buy.

  4. Cheapest here

    ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (FA608UMI)

2.20 kg with a 70 Wh battery and a 200 W adapter. It is the plain, heavier choice, with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage.

  5. Heaviest, a desk laptop

    ASUS ROG Strix G16 (G614FP)

2.50 kg, a 90 Wh battery and a 280W adapter. It has a 300 Hz screen and an RTX 5070, and I'd keep it for a desk.

Weight is only half of the airport question. The other half is the charger. ASUS lists a 200W adapter for the ROG Flow Z13 and TUF Gaming A16 and a 280W one for the Strix G16, and a gaming laptop on battery runs out fast. So I ranked these by what you carry, and I'm assuming you'll plug in to play.

Battery claims in this group come from two reviews. Neither is recent for every model, and I haven't tested any of them.

1. Razer Blade 14

Razer lists 1.63 kg and a 72 Wh battery, and says its two USB-C ports can supply up to 100 W, so you can leave the brick at home for light work. The slim adapter is 200 W. The price starts at $2,299.99 with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 (up to 5070), and the screen is 120 Hz OLED (November 1, 2026).

Tom's Guide (September 4, 2025) measured about 5 hours of web browsing at 150 nits, against the up to 11 hours Tom's Guide says Razer promises. Gaming on battery lasted about 2 h 14 min. The underside reached 96 F while gaming, and Tom's Guide considers anything over 95 degrees uncomfortable. The reviewer's complaint was price, and I share it.

2. ASUS ROG Flow Z13

Laptop Mag (February 28, 2025) measured just over 10 hours of web surfing at 150 nits, with the keyboard detached and the display at 60 Hz. Gaming lasted 1 h 34 min. Of the two laptops with a test I could read, that is the longer web result, though the testers and tests differ and Laptop Mag ran it with the keyboard off and the screen at 60 Hz. The tablet is 1.2 kg on ASUS's spec sheet, but the keyboard adds 0.86 lb, for 3.53 lb total. Laptop Mag also found it runs hot and called the keyboard unsuitable for gaming. It costs $2,099.99.

3. Razer Blade 16

Razer's page says 4.6 lb and 14.9 mm thin. It has a 16 in OLED screen at 240 Hz, and prices start at $2,399.99. Razer sells a 280W power adapter as an extra for it. I found no battery test, so I can't rank it by runtime. It's the one to pick if 14 inches is too small and you still want a real carry.

4. ASUS TUF Gaming A16

2.2 kg and a 70 Wh battery, per ASUS. The GPU is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, 8 GB, and it costs $1,799.99, against $2,099.99 for the Flow Z13. ASUS says whether a charger ships varies by region and model, so check the box contents.

5. ASUS ROG Strix G16

At 2.5 kg with a 90 Wh battery and a 280W adapter, this is a desk laptop that happens to have a handle. The screen runs at 300 Hz, the chip is a AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX, and it costs $2,399.99 (November 1, 2026).
